Family Friendly Technology Needs-My Two Cents

On the note of family freindly technology, I would like the following wish list:

1-The ability to read my childrens cell phone text messages and be emailed or text'd when a x rated word is used.

I got my new phone at Walmart for free.

Okay, I know you are prolonging your contract by 2 years from when you purchased your new phone, but if you qualify, which I think is 1 year from your original 2 year contract, you can get a new razor and other phones for free at Walmart. I don't think anyone knows this. I had to spend $200 on my daughters when I went to AT&T for an upgraded phone even though her contract qualified for an upgrade. Games, Games, and More Games

I want more E (everyone)Rated Games for my kids. I wish our Playstation could prohibit the use of M(mature) games, much like you can do on your television. I think some parents hold out on getting these gaming boxes because most of what is out there is too violent or sexual. It's frustrating.

I have put myself in a pickle. In my home there is no tv, computer, or internet usage(outside of school work) for my children until the weekends. Okay, maybe we make American Idol an exception. My two teenage boys are like all other teenage boys, game junkies, when allowed to play, after 3pm on the weekends. I purchased the Spore computer game for my 13 year old. PC World - For all of this year's chatter about the coming army of Android tablets, the near radio silence has been deafening. Until now. First, at consumer electronics show IFA in Berlin, came news of a global launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab. And starting next week, you can hop onto Amazon.com to pre-order the Stream TV eLocity A7.

IPad faces new tablet challengers (Investor's Business Daily)

Investor's Business Daily - Electronic giants Samsung and Toshiba each unveiled new tablet PCs running Google's (NMS:GOOG) Android OS that aim to tap consumer demand ignited by the Apple (NMS:AAPL) iPad. Samsung's Galaxy Tab features a 7-inch touch screen and WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Samsung said pricing will be $200-$300, depending on required 3G phone plans. Toshiba's Folio 100 features a larger 10-inch screen, but initially will only have WiFi connectivity. It'll be priced at $510. Apple rose 0.7% to 252.17.

Google (Investor's Business Daily)

Investor's Business Daily - Google (NMS:GOOG) will continue to provide the search results on AOL's Web site under a new, five-year deal. The deal will put AOL video content on Google's YouTube site for the first time. AOL edged up 0.7% to 23.05.

ArcSight posts higher fiscal 1Q profit (AP)

Privacy in iTunes Ping (PC World)

PC World - Ping is Apple's music-centric social network that is integrated into iTunes 10. From a privacy standpoint, it's pretty straightforward--as opposed to Facebook's multitude of privacy settings--but then again, Ping is also very limited as to what services it offers. In either case, here's a quick run-down of the privacy features present in Ping.
