Technology meets people.

Everybody needs an anti-virus and anti-spyware software product installed on each one of their home computers. Some prefer the basic paired down freeware version from the likes of AVG, Clam, etc. Most of us prefer to have the psychological benefit of knowing that someone is actually paid to keep up to date with the many threats in cyberspace. Being in the security business is a non stop night and day job – always staying abreast of the latest threats. With 10 million Americans being victimized by identity theft last year, malware is no longer an annoyance – it is criminal. There is a happy medium between that freeware and paid packages. While not well known, and a little hard to find, if you are a Comcast customer with a Comcast email address you can get one of the leading paid security suites for free. To save that $120 go to your Comcast home page and select the ‘security’ link at the very top of the page. This will take you to a page where you can get your license number and download McAfee’s Security Suite. The best part is that you can do this for each one of your home PC’s.

Wow Mike, great tip. I am a Comcast customer and use both McAfee and AVG for different computers. Do you have any idea why Comcast is not agressively marketing this?
