Trender Research, producers of the OTT (over-the-top video) Executive Summit (http://ottexec.com/), announced that Scripps Networks’ Brian Balthazar, Complex’s Rich Antoniello, and iTV Doctor Rick Howe were awarded the prestigious “OTT Genius”, “OTT Hero” and “OTT Guru” awards respectively. The OTT Executive Summit, held last month at the Westin Times Square, brings together top leaders in the industry to discuss how OTT is changing viewing behavior and pay-TV business models. Attendees include the top minds of the OTT world, including all the major service providers such as Verizon, Time Warner Cable, Cablevision, DirecTV, and Comcast, and leading broadcasters and programmers such as ABC, CBS, NBCUniversal, Fox, Hulu, and HBO.
“We are incredibly grateful for the valuable contributions added by these award recipients,” said Brian Mahony, CEO of Trender Research. “They were rewarded for the great insight they provided to this audience of prestigious executives. They truly earned these kudos!”
Brian Balthazar, VP Programming & Development for Scripps Networks, gave a keynote that was the highlight of the summit and earned him the top “OTT Genius” crystal trophy. He shared his thoughts as both a television personality and TV executive with keen insights as to what “works” in today’s fragmented entertainment market.
"It’s an honor to be recognized by the many remarkable people who are breaking new ground in the world of OTT content,” said Brian Balthazar. “I share this award with my colleagues at Scripps Networks Interactive who are geniuses when it comes to developing compelling, fun and engaging content for our viewers on all platforms."
"We've been very bullish on our expansion into video and exploring the various over the top solutions for distribution and partnerships,” said Rich Antoniello, CEO of Complex and recipient of the “OTT Hero Award”. “It's a fast-moving and turbulent time for the industry which is very exciting to me, so to be named OTT Hero is very cool. Expect a lot more from Complex in the next few months as we make more big moves in video!”
"It was an honor to have been presented the OTT Guru Award at the 2015 OTT Executive Summit,” said Rick Howe, known as the iTV Doctor. “Brian Mahony and his Trender Research team organized yet another fantastic industry event: very well-attended, informative and entertaining. And if you are either a seller or a buyer in the fast-moving online video space, it's a productive marketplace. OTT Exec just gets better every year!"
